configure lotus notes on home computer?

I work for a company who has crappy Lotus Notes 6.5.3 on a Domain, I am excited to say I am taking maternity leave but don't want to come back to 5000 emails. I have ip address to the server to connect trough the Lotus software if I use the Internet location, but I can't seem to configure it correctly, any suggestions.

1. You will need to have external access to the domain in order to get your email. Contact your company's IT department to walk you through setting it up. They are the only ones who can grant you access and get you setup correctly.
