On Lotus Notes how do I keep all my trash from automatically deleting?

On Lotus Notes how do I keep all my trash from automatically deleting? I want to be ab;e to go to my trash and all be able to retreive all my deleted emails.

1. It may be different based on what version you are on but go to FILE....Preferences...... User Preferences....Basic and you get set it to only delete trash when you tell it to.
