Notes Software

I want to apply for a job, but it says ' coding for Lotus Notes' is required. What sort of coding is it?

I tried looking for information but couldn't find it. Can someone guide me? What sort of programming languages does Lotus notes use and what is to be programmed? Your comments and useful links would be appreciated.

  1. its going to be somewhat similar to VBA, visual basic for applications however its not going to be something you can fake, either you know the language or you know the api. if you don't then you will get smoked very soon. however you could play thr other card.. haven't used notes, but I have done x,y,z. im a fast learner and so on
  2. I was an IT trainer for years but the only Lotus stuff I had to learn was Lotus Word Ami Pro, and it was beginning then to become rather defunct. Words 2000 was much better, but these odd ones kept putting in an appearance. The only one whose passing I regret is WordPerfect. I still have a sentimental attachment to it. But, anyway, 'Coding For Lotus Notes' is a new one on me. I now try to find work for people, and believe me, the real standard ones are still Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access. All the others seem to me to be 'hangers-on' and employers rarely ask for them. I did learn 3 different kinds of shorthand, but even that seems to have disappeared except in journalism courses. It has, however, been played down. When I learnt it, the norm was 140wpm. Now, a mate of mine who has just finished a journalism course in Brighton told me he only needs 90wpm.
