Notes Software

Does anybody know of a FREE note taking software without a trial limit?

AM-Notebook Lite 4.0.4 has a 30 day trial and Evernote has a 60 day trial. I need a permanent note taking software because Word just isn't cutting it anymore. Unfortunately, I'm budget-strapped and cannot afford the good ones in stores. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

2. I subscribe to the Giveaway of the Day site and today's free software just happens to be Evernote. I have used free software from this site for ages and both the site and the software is genuine.
