Sticky Notes On Xp Knowledge Base
Sticky Note on Windows XP? I saw on my friend's computer - who has vista - that there is a small sticky note on her desktop. I have windows xp but I would like to have sticky note, too. But I only found only ugly ones. Can anyone tell me if there is any chance to download a sticky note just like or at least almost like sticky note of vista?
How to use desktop 'sticky note' feature?? Okay this may sound like a stupid question. But does anyone know how to add vurtual sticky notes to your desktop?. To explain; I saw on a fellow students laptop that she had a bunch of reminders in the form of 'sticky notes" on her desktop. I thought it was a great idea, but have no idea if its a windows Xp feature or what. Any idea how to use this feature?
MicroSoft Office 2007 question about notes.? I have office 2003 on my desk top w/windows xp and it has "NOTES" Now I have a lap top with Vista & Office 2007 and I can't find that feature which I really like. VISTA AND XP QUESTION? on vista you have the side applications with a clock and sticky notes on can you get the same for xp?
Before I reinstall XP Pro...? - I have several old XP cds (all mine from a long time ago), some are Home, some are Pro), and they have key codes written on them, but nothing that says Service Packs (and I don't remember if they do or don't, or maybe there were no SPs back then when I purchased these). - I also have some key codes on sticky notes. - My current pc was a gift w/XP Pro (but no SPs, no cd, no key code). - Windows Automatic Update dwnld'd & installed ALOT of hotfixes in the past few months... but when it came to SPs, I was denied due to no genuine OS, no key code, etc, etc.... and the updates basically stopped. - Last month I switched ISPs, and immediately rcv'd SP 1&2 (wierd). - I have critically low disk space warnings (and I can see how much space those hotfixes took), and would like to reinstall XP via one of my cds w/code... but I'm scared to, I don't know why. - I've inserted a 2nd HDD and transferred my files, docs, pics, etc, to this 2nd drive, but still have critically low disk space. My Qs are: Is there any way to find out if these cds are still good? If I reinstall XP Pro, since I don't know if it comes w/any SPs, will my pc go thru the process of dwnld'g hotfixes again before coming to the SP part? If I reinstall XP Pro, and end up regretting it, will I be able to somehoiw "rollback" my pc to its original OS state? Thx everyone! (10 points)

Windows XP blue error screen UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME? Hi, we had an XP comluter that I ruined by trying to download a program that would search for outdated drivers and update them for you and the computer was not responding for like a half an hour and so I shut it down and I think it was in the middle of installing the software...it had a blue error screen and just recently we tried plugging it in agian and it actually caught fire. PCs are so pleasent....heh heh....yeah I really wish my parents would just get Macs already. Anyway my sister gave us a computer (still pretty old with XP on it) and it wouldent work from the beggining, I plugged the monitor and keyboard and mouse it and fired it up and it had a blue error screen saying "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and it also said "technicall info: *** Stop 0x000000ED (0x867819E0, 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" I tried to make it boot into he CD but I dont know if the cd drive is messed up or what but it will not boot into a CD. I just cant wait to get a MacBook at the end of the summer with my summer job....no more PC stress!!! So if anyone could give me some help it would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!!! (Oh, and the computer has 1GB RAM and a 20GB Hard drive...I know... OLD! And also it had a sticky note on it saying Bad Machine error booting operating system, and then it was crossed out and it said replaced 20GB hard drive. Its got Win XP SP3) Thanks agian!!!
Hi, I have Vista Home Premium and windows mail. What calendar is compatible?I? I'm new to vistsa & must admit that overall, XP had a far easier Interface. What I'd like to know is this. I use Windows Mail and Vista's calendar. In the old Office Outlook, mail, tasks, calendars etc all came bundled together. Efficient & easy, So, my question is if there is any program that combines all of these everyday office tasks into one easy to use package? And one that is easilly accessible, such as on the Vista SideBar. I am constantly .jotting down notes, on scrapes of paper here and there, usually loosing them. i have 2nd memory, so quick access to a notbook is vital. I know that there are literally hundreds of these Sticky Note etc etc etc available, but they are either too complicated and detailed or not free.. I'm currently using a sidebar one, which is ok, just way too small. Is there a bigger one with options of synching with the calendar? Perhaps all this is available and in a sidebar??? I'm not the best at searching & go off on a tangent!??
Do you think...? that the way questions are answred on the computers and internet section is largely ineffective? I mean when the same question is being asked for the 13490 time within the past 24 hrs, do you think we are actually not answering the questions that honestly shed new light? we should really petition yahoo to put up a few "sticky notes" that can be read. (everyone who agrees can start by asking this question again and again so some of the higher uppers read it. It would also helped if you starred this question) this way, at least this section, will not be hampered and bogged down with the same questions like (taken straight from yahoo answeres computer and internet section) "what is a good virus protection program?" "where can i get music for free?" "how can i put music on my myspace?" "which is better pc or mac?" "Which is better windows vista or windows xp?" "why doesn't mac ever get viruses?" "What is limewire?" "How do i put music on my itunes?" It would be much more efficient...
Do you think Windows 7 is a poor imitation of Mac OSs and Vista is better? Ok.... I had Vista since the very first release (2 months afterward) and I never really liked it (though 90% of that probably came from the crappy Gateway I own and, as we speak has been trying to start for 2 hours with important files on it....). My mother got a new laptop recently with Windows 7 on it, and I thought I'd look at it to see what it's like. In 7-8th grade, Maine, where I live, gives students a mac laptop to use (some schools use the programs from 7-12th grade), and a few years ago, I was the lucky recipient of one. Despite them being 3-4 versions of the mac laptop old at the time, they were so great to use, I LOVED THEM! Everyone loved using the sticky note feature that it had, and the doc was probably one of my favorite things ever, especially since it had individual spaces after the programs for your open windows. Overall, despite my financial disadvantage, I just love macs. Well after noticing some of the features of Windows 7, such as a new sticky note feature (hmmm..... where've I seen that on old versions of a program I used 5 years ago?), and the "only programs" task bar (which I see lacks an "individual window" section, and the pop-out view is just annoying), I much prefer Vista... I think that many people did not like Vista because of XP's greatness, and they just weren't accepting of it..... I think that if you're looking for a mac and going to Windows 7 for "its competition to mac" you'd be MUCH better off getting a mac than the cheaper windows 7 (or at least going for Vista). For windows 7, I can't even get the snap feature to work, but oh well.... ANYWAY, I want to know what others think about Windows 7 v. Mac, and Windows 7 v. Vista. I do want to say that all opinions are welcome, and mine is based off my experiences. Oh, please keep answers polite, only answer if you've used all three, windows 7 and mac, or windows 7 and vista, and not because you're only replying based off of advertising campaigns or so on, and please describe what your reasoning is...... Thanks everyone. Thanks IxCptMorganx1 I think that you're right on not buying a mac outright for the OS, I'm just saying that if you're buying windows because you think it's mac, then you're better off to try it... I definitely should have corrected that....
I Need Major Help with DirectX 9.0c, Please? Okay, my brain is about to explode from information overload. I installed The Sims 2 and the Sims 2 Nightlife. But, when I tried to run them, I got the message: -"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a direct X9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."- I tried to install said graphics adapter, but I had to put it on a USB drive, and take to my computer upstairs where I installed The Sims 2, which happens to have no internet. But, to no avail. I Googled and noticed a LOT of people were having this issue, but then all the posts about how to fix the problem were to technical, and I had no idea what they were saying. Can someone please explain to me, in simple terms, how to fix this problem? But, I also wrote down every single bit of info from the computer that I thought would be useful down on a sticky-note, so you can kinda get the general idea of the system I'm dealing with [And please keep in mid I have no idea what any of this info means...] : ------------------------------------------------------------- --Computer: Intel Premium III Processor 730 MHz, 512 MB of RAM --Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation) --DAC Type: Internal --Memory Size: 32 MB --Driver Provider: Intel Corporation --Driver Date: 6/8/2001 --Version: 6.13.1.3198 --Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Publisher --Hardware Acceleration: Full --Display: KDS Visula Sensations VS-190is/VS-190p on Intel (R) 82815 Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation) --System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Mac Stickies for Windows Vista and/or XP? I am looking for a program that is identical to Mac's sticky note program but meant for windows. I have both a Vista laptop and an XP laptop (one home, one work), so a variety for either version would work. I am wanting something that has this type of appearance: http://www.stillaslife.com/uploaded_images/stickies-screenshot-721222.png Alot of the ones that I have found don't look quite as streamlined and nice... I'm an appearance snob when it comes to my desktop! If it weren't for the fact that I had already bought all of the programs that I need in Windows version (Office Enterprise, SPSS, Adobe Master Collection--- over $1500 in software right there) for my work computer, I would have just gotten a Mac laptop, but sadly that was not a good option. I always appreciate everyone's help!
Disabling file details (pop) in Windows Explorer? When I point my mouse pointer to any single file in Windows XP a yellow "sticky note" type pop appears for a few seconds to display file information such as Date modified, Author, Size, etc. then disappears however if I point back to it or another file then there is that pop again. Does anyone know where the setting is to stop that annoyance?? This occurs in Windows Explorer and any replacement such as FreeCommander. Note: Disable Notification Area Balloon Tips in Windows XP help does not work The "EnableBalloonTips" registry entry is already set to '0' plus I even recreated and still no go...still appears.
A doubt about windows xp sounds? When i press shift key 5 times sticky keys are enabled(by making a beep sound through computer; Please note my point---NOT through my headphone!)From where is it coming out, whats the one word i should use to point it?...By the by i am thinking about whether its possible to hear music files( film songs) through it. I know the sound might not be nice to ears, but is it possible?.
