Where can I get a free voice to note converter? PLEASE ANSWER!? I have a song that I wrote, and I want some music to go along with it. I can't play an instrument so I figured, if I sang to the computer it would be nice if it came up with the notes as I sang. Does anyone know about a voice to note converter, like a software? I would like it to be free, but if you have a suggestion of a cheap one, you can post that also, thank you, and please answer as soon as possible!
My N73 phone memory is always full!? How can I free up my phone RAM? People say that Nokia Lifeblog is the real culprit about this problem that gives me headache... Since then I was unable to send and receive text messages, post to notes, install software or whatever. I don't want to format my phone because it contains irreplaceable software! How can I free Lifeblog if I cannot open it because of memory shortage? How can I fix this??
Are novel writing software programs really worth the expense? Are there better free ones? And which ones do you find are the best in both categories? I'm well aware that the best program is probably Microsoft Word as well as a pencil and paper, but I'm not actually looking to become a "better writer" by using novel writing software. I'm perfectly content with the way I write - it's just that I'm looking for something that is more of an organizer for chapters, scenes, characters, and all those little bits and pieces that you aren't sure where to put yet. I'm slowly filling up my wall with post it notes and the plot outline for that storyboard isn't even halfway done for one book, let alone the three that the story might cover. So I really need a better way to stick everything together without the mess, and without a huge pile of Microsoft word files that I'd have to sort through and then compile together. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what program would be the best for organizing a novel? (Either free, paid for or both) I've checked out things like New Novelist, but I'm a little apprehensive about buying it if it's not what I need.
Seeing many posts in this section for Free AntiSpyware and AntiVirus programs? First of all - in the past few months or so there has been a surge in fake pop ups stating that the person's Antivirus program is out of date and people are clicking on this and adding MORE viruses etc,.... Second - here is the latest Security Internet Alert from Homeland Security- Fake Antivirus Software Circulating added September 16, 2008 at 12:30 pm US-CERT is aware of public reports indicating an increase in the instances of fake antivirus software circulating. These software applications are malicious code, not legitimate antivirus applications. These instances of malicious code are noted as being distributed through spam email messages containing malicious links, instant messages containing malicious links, private messages on social networking sites, infection from other malware, and from visiting compromised websites. Quite often, this malware attempts to convince users that there is something wrong with their systems. This leads to an attempt persuade the users into purchasing an illegitimate antivirus application. If the user purchases the bogus software, the attacker may be able to obtain personal and credit card information for use in additional scams and fraudulent activity. US-CERT encourages users to perform the following preventative measures to help mitigate the risks: * Install legitimate antivirus software from a trusted vendor, and keep its virus signature files up-to-date. * Do not follow unsolicited web links found in email messages or instant messages. * Use caution when visiting untrusted websites. * Do not install untrusted software. I would like to know why there is so much advice to download free software in this section when there is clearly an issue in this area....a big issue. It is recommended to ensure legitimacy. So what's up?

Can a professional programmer edit the following keylogger script to meet the illustrated criteria? The following is a keylogger script that when run is supposed to send logs to an email address. I've never used it before and am not using for hacking purposes; strictly testing (suspicious, I know). I am a systems administrator but can't seem to edit it to properly do it. Also, if possible, if someone could explain how to compile it so that it can be used? I recently downloaded Dev C++ but can't seem how to work it. The one to correct it so that it runs and gives me instructions, gets best answer, 5 stars. I need it to be set so that it emails to the following address: keylogger@netrosoftcorporation.co.nr.test-google-a.com (long email, I know---it's a Google Apps email) OR keylogger@netrosoftcorporation.co.cc The script is below: /* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * File: keymail.c Ver. 0.7 * * * * Purpose: a stealth (somewhat) key logger, writes to a log file then sends * * and email to whoever is set in the #define options at compile time. * * This code is for educational uses, don't be an ass hat with it. * * White Scorpion (www.white-scorpion.nl) did the initial work on the key * * logger, but he has gone on to bigger and better things. * * This version was crafted by Irongeek (www.Irongeek.com), who tacked on * * some code to make it send emails, along with a few other changes. * * If some of the code is crappy, blame Irongeek and not White Scorpion. * * Please send Irongeek improvements and he will post the changes and give you * * credit for your contributions. * * * * This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or * * modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License * * as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 * * of the License, or (at your option) any later version. * * * * This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, * * but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of * * MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Can someone help me find a really advanced audio editing software? Several months ago (a year? two? been a long while), I saw a tech demo video of a music editing program that was still in its experimental phase. It was capable of differentiating the various instruments in a WAV or MP3 file and actually splitting the file into its component instrumental tracks. It could identify individual notes, and you could elongate or shorten the notes, move them around, etc, while maintaining the sound samples from the MP3 itself. In short, it was the ultimate sound editing software, and I can't, for the life of me, remember what it was called. I really want to know if this program is completed and on the market yet, as I have some songs I'd like to strip some tracks and voice out of. Has anyone heard of this? NOTE: I'm POSITIVE I saw it at http://flemco.livejournal.com , but I don't have time to go looking through 4 years worth of archives. Feel free to look for yourself, but the guy posts multiple times EVERY DAY, so it'll take a while. Must be over 18, also . . . guy's blog can be pretty racy.

My laptop won't turn on? Actually, this post is not really a question, but an answer to the question...and help you save time and money. I have had this problem with a few of my laptops, where for some reason it doesn't turn on anymore (or after 50 tries, it for some reason does turn on and works fine)...but in general it has trouble turning on. In all my cases, it had to do with the power supply. Sometimes the battery works, sometimes the plug works, sometimes both in combination works...BUT I realized that, if I stop using the battery all together (totally removed it from the laptop), and get it to turn on with just the adapter...then it can turn on without any problems... Note #1: You must work, as much times as 50 - 100 times, trying to turn on the laptop with plug only (no battery attached) Note #2: The reason that it sometimes turn on, or won't turn on at all, is that the battery drains the start up power of the computer, especially if it's an old battery (but it can happen with new batteries as well)...so keep batteries out of the laptop. Note #3: If you keep using a battery, you will burn out the hardware of your laptop, and it will work less and less each time, so it will be better to use it as a 'portable desktop' than a laptop. Tip #1: Clean your registry...You can download "CCleaner" from download.com (a free software without any spyware)...it will help to speed up your computer and stop it from freezing. Tip #2: Use an anti-virus software...I recommend AVG, also available at download for free. Tip #3: Disable unnecessary start up programs...chances are you have alot of programs that load up that you don't use often or at all... Here's what to do: click on the Start Menu, if there's a space, type 'msconfig' (if not, find 'run' then type 'msconfig') and press enter. Go to the 'Start Up' tab, and click 'disable all' then press apply. Then go back over the list can check the programs you want to start automatically on startup, and the press apply. You can even go to the 'Services' Tab, and click 'hide all microsoft services' then click disable all, and apply the changes. Hope this helps.
Help in finding this computer appliance/software please? I am looking for this one computer appliance/software with which through dictation and while wearing a headset anything you mean to type with your fingers on Microsoft Word is instead automatically typed with just your voice. It is all done hands-free and depends on your voice. It's similar to a digital note-taker but way more advanced than it, however, since you need to have Microsoft Word on for it to work. I once saw it posted on the flyer of this store (whose name I don't know either) for sale a while back. Any sort of help in this search is more than welcome.
Questions about Antivirus XP 2008 Virus? This post is more of a reference for people who are dealing with the nasty Antivirus XP 2008. To emphasize, the application is malware so take extra caution when dealing with the application. Here is a list of my experiences, tips, advice, and suggestions that helped me get rid of mine: Symptoms of the Virus on your Computer: 1. Your internet browser becomes hijacked and you are redirected to junk website when you click on external links 2.Your wallpaper is either blue of white with a huge virus warning window permanently imprinted in the middle. 3. A realistic, BUT FAKE antivirus window appears that FALSELY scans and provides FAKE results. 4.There is a constant pop-up bubble from the toolbar at the bottom of the sceen that alerts you of how many infections you have. DONT BE FOOLED! It is obviously fake! Here are a list of items that will be afflicted by the virus: Internet Browser Wallpaper, Display, and certain Appearance features Dramatic slow down in browsing speed due to malware Certain Hot Keys Email-(It has been noted to have occured to some people) Suggestions!: First off, try to manually remove the program. More likely, the software installed itself without your knowledge. Secondly, make sure your FIREWALL is ON. If you need help in manually removing it there are tons of other post on Yahoo Answers! So be sure to look around! Now for me, the Browser Hijacking was the most frustrating part, but I downloaded a software that is free and ELIMINATES all the trojans, spyware, and malware that is hiding somewhere in your drive(s). http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol;pop&cdlPid=10878968 Malewarebytes' Anti-Malware is superb. Easy, quick download, and it takes care of those virus thingys pretty effectively. Once you download it, perform a quick scan once or twice. After a while, a whole mess of trojans, adware, and so on start counting up. When the scan is complete, an alert window will pop up instructing you to click yes to restarting the computer so that the process can be complete. It SHOULD restart the computer for you! That should clear up the nasty Antivirus XP 2008. Again, there are a whole bunch of other post that will provide more detailed instructions. But from my experience, I used Malewarebytes' Anti-Maleware to scan and clean up my computer and it removed all traces of the virus so I definitely recommend downloading it from CNET.com for free. It totally makes things easier! I hope this all helped!
what's a good, cheap laptop for a college student? I need something that is capable of taking notes, accessing the internet(so wifi) and has a duel processor-a webcam is a bonus, as I'd be able to record my lectures for future review. I also plan on downloading my books onto the laptop(ebook format) so I'm going to need as much space as possible. Software doesn't really mater, my campus offers it for free. my budget is ---maxed--- at $500 (USD). PLEASE post a link to the site/laptop that you recommend. I've already looked around the Dell and Gateway websites, if you want to give me an opinion on a laptop from one of the two manufactures, feel free. Student discounts aren't very helpful-they only apply to the very expensive models ($1000+) and that's just a no. Laptops only please, no netbooks. Thanks in advance for all the help!
I need journey sheet music and I'm not utterly convinced it exists on the internet yet. Please help me.? I am exceeding frustrated by the internet's seeming INABILITY to provide correct and precise sheet music that is what is ACTUALLY played in the ACTUAL song. I am looking for the sheet music to Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. This seemingly simple endeavor is turning out to be much more difficult than I originally thought. There are plenty of copies of this sheet music both free and for sale. Unfortunately, none of these copies are ACTUALLY what is played in the song. Don't Stop Believin's first treble clef chord is C F C. Online sheet music states it to be B E B. This is incorrect if you play it along with the actual song. Another incongruity lies in the rhythms. The bass clef melody line is in triplets in the actual song. Online sheet music lists it in the easier to play eighth note format. Which, need I add, is incorrect. I am a very visual person and need to see it to play it well. I am also very bad at transposition, and it would take me days to transcribe it and ensure all rhythms are correct. I would also need to buy music notation software, which I really do not want to have to spend money on. Thank you for helping me not shoot myself with frustration. If anyone can find the CORRECT sheet music for "Don't Stop Believin'" with C F C chords and triplets, please post a link here. Free is preferable (I don't have money just laying about after all), but if I must I will spend money.
Can we just vote the issues? Healthcare Obama’s plan says he will “Work with employers to supply healthcare” as long as employers pay a “meaningful” portion of the premiums. “Meaningful portion” What does that mean? It means it’s not going to happen. If he could legislate that employers provide insurance under those conditions, the number of businesses closing under the financial pressure would cripple our economy. The inevitable consequences of socialized medicine. We will see the rise of privately run clinics owned by Physicians that treat the wealthy and the privately insured. These places will charge more, pay Doctors more, and have the latest advances in equipment. These clinics will attract the smartest and most talented doctors and surgeons from our “free” hospitals. If you have Government insurance, you will never see them. Yes, there are problems with our medical system, but in an emergency you will be seen and treated properly with or without a nickel in your pocket. You will be expected to pay, but why shouldn’t you? More to the point, why should I pay for you? Socialized medicine will give you’re a free liver transplant or cancer treatment, if you live long enough while waiting your turn. Making the Medical system paperless? That would require the authoring of a web based software package in many different versions that would speak to the many different disciplines in the medical field so as not to share or needlessly replicate sensitive medical information. Most Americans are afraid to shop online and now we are going to ask them to supply all their personal information to a Government run database with literally 10’s of thousands of user names and passwords distributed throughout the medical community? The following is a paragraph from a Washington Post article titled “VA Takes the Lead in Paperless Care”. “Since 1999, the VA's 155 hospitals, 881 clinics, 135 nursing homes and 45 rehabilitation centers have been linked by a universal medical records network. It allows any authorized person to look at 5.3 million patients' records -- everything from a nurse's note written during a hospital stay, to the result of a blood test drawn at a clinic visit, to the moving-picture film of a coronary angiogram done in a cardiology lab.” Any “Authorized” person, or hacker! Is this the place you want the records for your last PAP smear? AIDS test? STD treatment? Phyc exam? Think your information is safe from disgruntled employees? From hackers? Forever? You will have no choice but participate. “Stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas”. Like it or not we are competing in a global economy. To stay competitive companies must lower their costs. Unfortunately that means finding less expensive work forces, less restrictive controls, and lower tax rates. Giving tax breaks does not cause companies to ship jobs overseas; it is encouragement to keep them here! If you vote for one over the other because you “like” one candidate or “hate” the other instead of voting the issues, you do us all an extreme disservice. You should not be allowed to vote. Dislike Bush? Me too. I also hate hitting my foot with a hammer but that does not mean hitting my head instead is the answer! All that being said, does McCain have all, or any of the answers? Maybe. Maybe not. The point is Obama’s plans will hurt this country. Before Iraq, when every Congress member and US Senator were convinced (through lies, miscommunication, or arrant information) O’bama says he was against the war, I would like to know one thing. What information did this Junior State Senator from Illinois know that the entire US Senate & House did not know and how did he know it? What did this man that wants to be our President base his decision on?
Get ready to grin this is really funny.? (On a lighter note, the following story is a montage of several of the urban myths currently floating around cyberspace. This anonymous email is being passed around under the heading, "It Must be True, I Saw it on the Internet.") I was on my way to the post office to pick up my case of free M&M's (sent to me because I forwarded an e-mail to five other people, celebrating the fact that the year 2000 is "MM" in Roman numerals), when I ran into a friend whose neighbor, a young man, was home recovering from having been served a rat in his bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken (which is predictable, since as everyone knows, there's no actual chicken in Kentucky Fried Chicken, which is why the government made them change their name to KFC). Anyway, one day this guy went to sleep and when he awoke he was in his bathtub and it was full of ice and he was sore all over and when he got out of the tub he realized that HIS KIDNEY HAD BEEN STOLEN.He saw a note on his mirror that said "Call 911!" but he was afraid to use his phone because it was connected to his computer, and there was a virus on his computer that would destroy his hard drive if he opened an e-mail entitled "Join the crew!" He knew it wasn't a hoax because he himself was a computer programmer who was working on software to prevent a global disaster in which all the computers get together and distribute the $250.00 Neiman-Marcus cookie recipe under the leadership of Bill Gates. (It's true - I read it all last week in a mass e-mail from BILL GATES HIMSELF, who was also promising me a free Disney World vacation and $5,000 if I would forward the e-mail to everyone I know.) The poor man then tried to call 911 from a pay phone to report his missing kidneys, but a voice on the line first asked him to press #90, which unwittingly gave the bandit full access to the phone line at the guy's expense. Then reaching into the coin-return slot he got jabbed with an HIV-infected needle around which was wrapped a note that said, "Welcome to the world of AIDS." Luckily he was only a few blocks from the hospital - the one where that little boy who is dying of cancer is, the one whose last wish is for everyone in the world to send him an e-mail and the American Cancer Society has agreed to pay him a nickel for every e-mail he receives. I sent him two e-mails and one of them was a bunch of x's and o's in the shape of an angel (if you get it and forward it to more than 10 people, you will have good luck but for only 10 people you will only have OK luck and if you send it to fewer than 10 people you will have BAD LUCK FOR SEVEN YEARS). So anyway the poor guy tried to drive himself to the hospital, but on the way he noticed another car driving without its lights on. To be helpful, he flashed his lights at him and was promptly shot as part of a gang initiation. Send THIS to all the friends who send you their mail and you will receive 4 green M&Ms -- if you don't, the owner of Proctor and Gamble will report you to his Satanist friends and you will have more bad luck: you will get sick from the Sodium Laureth Sulfate in your shampoo, your spouse will develop a skin rash from using the antiperspirant which clogs the pores under your arms, and the U.S. government will put a tax on your e-mails forever. I know this is all true 'cause I read it on the Internet. Author unknown --------------
Help, iPod no longer recognises music or video files? PLEASE NOTE I know this is a re-post, but you all know how answers works, as soon as your question dissapears from the main "answer" page you never get any answers, and this situation is urgent, Ok, I originally used this computer with iTunes to initially sync my music and videos to my new iPod touch 2nd gen when I bought it in December, while my computer was being repaired. When my computer was repaired, I transferred the music from this computer to mine, and used it until my computer's hard drive was corrupted recently. i had fairly recently backed up my music, so nothing was lost, and i still had all the music/videos on my ipod. However, yesterday I wanted to add an album of mine to my iPod, so, I hooked it up to this computer (not needing to worry about wiping because i set both machines never to automatically sync content) and added the album to itunes, then to my iPod. No problem. But today, when i wanted to do a similar thing a problem occured. I hooked up the iPod to iTunes, and it auto-synced as it always does , and went to the iPod summary page, as always, but I was alarmed when the memory summary showed 1.3 GBs of apps (which is normal) and around 28GB of files deemed "other", with no music or video files showing. I then unplugged my iPod, and checked it to find that all but two of my music files (interestingly the ones i had purchased rom the iPod itself) and ALL of my video files gone. They are clearly still there, but are registering as "other" files. Also, i cannot join my home wifi network. This has nothing to do with the recent 3.0 update either, as i have not installed it ( I resent paying £6 for a software update mainly for iPhone users) Does anyone have any idea what is going on? How can i solve this problem? I can't just restore the files from the backup because: a) with the files still there, but registering as "other" there is not enough space on the iPod b) i'm not permitted to put the files back on this computer so, unless someone can fix this, i'm without my iPod until i get a new computer. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, matt =( PS. Please feel free to e-mail me if you require further information, i will be checking the question all day, and will add any required info in an "additional information" section.
Did you know that Einstein used bible codes to prove dinosaurs drilled into hell to steal NASA's missing day? I was on my way to the post office to pick up my case of free M&M's (sent to me because I forwarded an e-mail to five other people, celebrating the fact that the year 2000 is "MM" in Roman numerals), when I ran into a friend whose neighbor, a young man, was home recovering from having been served a rat in his bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken (which is predictable, since as everyone knows, there's no actual chicken in Kentucky Fried Chicken, which is why the government made them change their name to KFC). Anyway, one day this guy went to sleep and when he awoke he was in his bathtub and it was full of ice and he was sore all over and when he got out of the tub he realized that HIS KIDNEY HAD BEEN STOLEN. He saw a note on his mirror that said "Call 911!" but he was afraid to use his phone because it was connected to his computer, and there was a virus on his computer that would destroy his hard drive if he opened an e-mail entitled "Join the crew!" He knew it wasn't a hoax because he himself was a computer programmer who was working on software to prevent a global disaster in which all the computers get together and distribute the $250.00 Neiman-Marcus cookie recipe under the leadership of Bill Gates.
I keep getting banned at a message board. How do they know its me? I got banned from a forum because I started a political argument and got mad and made an ass of myself on my favorite forum and now I keep getting banned over and over. I like to sit at my favorite PC at the library and they have DSL by Windstream. I don't have DSL at home. When I looked up the library PC's IP address, I saw my city's location marked on a google map and I saw the IP addy and I made a note of it, after I got banned. I don't know much about this stuff. But anyhow, I re-registered at the forum with a new username, new password, new email, etc. I click on the activation email, etc., and started posting again. Guess what happened? I got banned again. It is at that point I realize that when you moderate a forum, you can see someone's IP address and apparently, I had been red flagged. Maybe they have software for when the IP address shows up it automatically bans you? Or do they sit there and do it visually? SO what I was wondering if, if someone else comes along and wants to register at the same site that banned me, and they are in the library, but at a different computer, will they be banned also? Does the forum have software or some way to recognize that 'hey, this user is from City X, from that IP address we banned before, and we have got to ban this new user also!' Is it matching up the IP address, the location, the service provider, the computer itself or what?! If the people who live next door to the library were also using the same DSL provider, would they also be banned? Does each individual pc have it's own way of being identified or something? If I sat at the computer that is in the next booth over, would I be able to register at the site and post, or would I get banned again? How can I get back on my favorite forum and register again so I can post, but keep my opinionated mouth shut, and not get banned this time? I am so disappointed this happened---I had a lot of threads going there, and a lot of online friends, and now I don't know how to get back because each time I've tried (3 times!) I've been banned... Thanks for the explanations on all of this! I'm trying to learn something new here also. I appreciate your help! And then, a few days later.... Look, you guys, it happened again. A few days ago, I sat here, at my favorite pc and got a new free email address through yahoo, registered again at the forum, clicked on the confirmation link and began to post again. I noticed that each day my IP address was different, as was the physical location (city) it was coming out of. I didn't start any arguments or anything at all, just thank you's, and then this morning, I am banned again. HOW do they know it's me? Do I just need to clear my cookies or something? I have even used a different browser (google chrome!). I don't get it! Can someone PLEASE explain this to me? What is tipping them off?????? I keep reading that I need to change my IP address to get around this, but I see my IP address HAS been different, so how do they know its me? If they are banning my IP address, does that mean that everybody in my area, (city) who uses the same provider is being banned also?
Can common sense be applied to campaign promises? Applying common sense to Obama’s campaign promises. Phyc exam? Have a look at this article (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,435681,00.html) Think your information is safe? Maybe. Maybe not. The point is Obama’s plans will hurt this country

What's a good movie-making camera for amateurs? This is my third, and last time posting this. Sorry if I'm wasting any ones' time. Just want to get the opinions of many people before I decide. Okay, well...My little cousins and I like to make these little movies. I usually shoot them with the camera on my laptop, meaning we can't move around much. I decided to use my digital camera to shoot all of the scenes, because it takes place mainly outdoors. However...If I want to use Windows Movie Maker, I can't because everything is in the wrong format. When I try to change the format, and I've tried many different converters, and tried changing to many things, the result is always jumpy. I want to film a video in cuts, and be able to put it together looking exactly as it did when I filmed it. I decided that I would just go out and buy a camera, but I don't have money to blow on something I'm not sure will work, so I need help. Based on what I've told you, what type of camera do you think I should get? If possible, give me several options at different prices. Note: I tried using a different movie making software. I forget what I did to make it work for that, but the time on the free trial is expired anyways, and I don't want to purchase it. I believe it was Power Director. If you have a different movie maker software to suggest (FOR AMATEURS ONLY) please do so, but keep in mind that I don't have a ton of money. Thank you very much!
Symantec Endpoint Protection v.s. Eset Smart Security? My subscription to Eset Smart Security will be running out soon, and I can't decide if I want to renew it. My alternative is to use Symantec Endpoint Protection, which I can get free of cost through the DOD, but I've not been able to find anything on the software, other than a good review of it. note: I'd prefer answers from people who have experience with Endpoint, not a bunch of posts bashing one AV or another, and I'm not going to buy Kaspersky or anything other software - its one of these two. Thanks!
Blue Screen 3 times on HP Laptop running Vista OS? This has happened to me 3 times now. The first time was last month I believe and then it happened twice this month. I'm not sure what to do about this because every time I try to read the message on the blue screen it goes away too fast. This is what I got from the error report thing (also, question what does Microsoft truly do with those reports? I never seem to get anything useful out of it). I've only had this laptop since January so this really shouldn't be happening. What are the common reasons for something like this? Also, on the HP center thing on the laptop it recommends that I use WinFlash to flash my BIOS. Is that wise to do? Under what circumstances? And one more thing, could system restore rectify the problem? Another thing that might help is I've ended up on some shady attack sites before without realizing it (I am not a pervert. I'm a female we don't do pervy things lol. But no seriously) so could it be because of a virus? But my anti-virus software (I used to have Norton until it ran out so I'm using AVG. Is AVG the best free one or should I get another one? If so which one?) hasn't detected any viruses so I'm sorta ruling that out. It might have happened more times than I know because a few times before the blue screen I would return from doing something and be told that my computer has recovered from an unexpected shutdown but I never saw the blue screen until last month. Am I rambling? I'm sorry. Help please? Best most coherent answer gets 10 points. This is what I copied from the error report if it will be any help: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 9f BCP1: 00000003 BCP2: 875FF030 BCP3: 875F3728 BCP4: 850C2008 OS Version: 6_0_6002 Service Pack: 2_0 Product: 768_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini081309-01.dmp C:\Users\Ivy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-7835… C:\Users\Ivy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER6E4C.… Note: It just happened again today. This question was posted last week or the week before but the answers weren't very good. LOL first answerer, I'm quite aware that Microsoft sucks. I want a Mac but I'm a poor college student. I'm not asking for a new operating system I'm asking for some help.
What is your opinion of the 10 most frequently asked questions in C&A? These aren't in any particular order: 1. What is this show/movie/cartoon/anime (that I forgot)? Next time, take note of things you don't want to forget. 2. What anime series would you recommend? Recommendations are fine, but don't become too dependent on others. It can be exciting to discover your own interests. 3. Where can I buy/download/watch/read this (for free)? There's this wonderful place called the LIBRARY where you can read and borrow these magnificent objects called BOOKS for FREE. Some libraries even have CARTOONS and animated films that you can borrow and watch for FREE. There's also this fantastic place called the INTERNET. You can find anything on the INTERNET, Legendary! Just don't be lazy. If you don't know how to do research, you can ask someone to show you or find out on the INTERNET (hint: ask on Yahoo! Answers). Oh yeah ... and there's no such thing as a free lunch. Why should you deserve to get something for free that others had to pay to watch or read? Give a man a fish, you have fed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. 4. What episode is this? Refer to an episode guide. You can find one on Wikipedia and others on the Internet. 5. What program/software did they use to make this cartoon? What do you think is the purpose of this question? Does the asker want to make his/her own cartoon? Having the tools doesn't mean you know how to use them. Why would animation companies reveal that kind of information? 6. Will there be another season? Name one sequel that is not of lower quality compared to the original. 7. When will the next issue/season come out? It will be some time in the near future. 8. What is this song? The music category would yield better results. Try posting a comment under the YouTube video or emailing whoever uploaded it. 9. Who would win: A or/vs B? You'll never know for sure unless the battle actually occurs. If you're good at computer programming, you can create your own simulation. 10. [some question about a video game] The video game category would yield better results. The asker was too lazy to check gamefaqs. Sorry Bash ... I have read it. Studied it in fact. This is only the very tip of the plan that is inconsistent with success.
What's a good movie-making camera for amateurs? This is my second time posting this. Sorry if I'm wasting anyone's time. When I try to change the format, and I've tried many different convertors, and tried changing to many things, the result is always jumpy.

How can you make free sheet music on the Internet? I need a site that you con create music for free on. You can download something, though I'd rather not have that. I need to know because I am trying to transpose a clarinet piece into a flute piece. I know how to do that, I'm just not very good at writing the notes on a staff. I can get free music staffs, I need a software or website that lets me CREATE the music. Thanks for your answers, and please don't post if you don't have an answer!! Once again, I DO NOT WANT A WEBBIE TO GET BLANK SHEET MUSIC!!!! I use BlankSheetMusic.net all the time. Thanks for the other people though.

That's the company's tag line. And they deliver. LOVETHELAB?************ I'm a BD flow lover, a confirmed Mac user (I tell everyone "I don't do Windows"). So why am I touting a machine made by Amnis that requires Windows? Because this instrument goes above and beyond mere flow cytometry- it shows you every event (that's cell to non-flow users) in detail. I used it and I am sold. It takes a single experiment now to do intracellular localization, in place of two. A simpler caspase activation assay. What's not to love? Even the computer quandary is solvable (the one feature I'd change: I'd have it run off a Mac) - with an Intel Mac; just get Parallels software, install Windows, and you are good to go, or rather, run. And the ImageStream can run off an Intel Mac this way too. I bought an Intel iMac just for analysis. Installation of Parallels was easy, IDEAS is about as intuitional as any flow software package. And Amnnis reps bend over to be helpful. Don't let the price tag scare you; rather, help write a shared- instrument grant (we did) for your institution to get one. It is simply amazing. The most comprehensive flow cytometry and analytical cytology website I have found. You will find resources ranging from archived protocols to request forms for the latest protocols CD-ROMs - and they are free while supplies last. Job listings, meetings, journals, latest developments- it is all here. Lectures Website Dr. J. Paul Robinson, Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, has put a compilation of lec-ture slides on a website. Some of the information is bullet statements, but the pictures are great. If you've never seen a flow cytometer, you'll see lots of them here. If you are new to flow, you'll find in-troductory slides here. Practical Flow Cytometry, Fourth Edition by Howard Shapiro, published by J. Wiley & Sons, 2003. Website Dr. Shapiro has kindly put his textbook online through Molecular Probes. It is free! Yes, you do need to register to see it, but that's all you need to do, and you have access forever. Flow Cytometry E-mail Discussion Group Website Have a question? Novices to experts, all levels of questions are welcome. This e-mail group has been invaluable to me. E-mails are archived and can be searched by topic. International Society for Analytical Cytology Website The premier society for flow cytometry, it publishes Cytometry Parts A and B (Clinical Cytometry), Case Studies in Clinical Flow Cytometry, and Current Protocols in Cytometry. These are available on-line, but you must be subscribed for access. Regular dues are US $126; fees are deeply dis-counted for students, post-doctoral fellows, and scientists from developing nations. Please consider joining. National Flow Cytometry Resource, Los Alamos National Laboratories Website Where the cutting edge happens. NFCR runs a course every June that alternates between Los Ala-mos and New England. I recommend it to the serious flow person; you will learn a tremendous amount, including how to build your own flow cytometer, if you are so inclined. FlowCyte Website This discussion group is dedicated to flow users interested in developing uniform bioinformatics standards. They are also developing analysis and statistics software for flow users. Could you please help me to get rid of this? My situation I really need your suggestions, info, links, et cetera to get me break away from this computer addiction please. I have been living with computer since its advent, and I have been too long in this bit and byte world. I have almost no problem with my family and/or social matters (maybe), but certainly, I have problems with myself. I realize that my addiction to computer and internet has seized big values of my life. Please do not assume that I am addicted to the gaming, gambling, chatting, or sexual leisure online. I think I have really got the most of the computing and internet, I got answers for my quests in life: history, languages, hobbies, health, skill improvement, and other eye-openers, but I realized that at the end I just barely do not recognize myself. I knew that before the PC arrival, I was a simple human with a romantic and artistic mind inside, and then later I evolved to such a robot, to be precise: a slave of the technology. The internet had made me more tied to the PC, at first it delivered me the news of the world, marvelous things found there within the clicks and so on, but then made me deep drown into the pond of information. The cost and the lost Having knowledge to computer hardware made me always upgrade my gears. It made me spend big cost just to fulfill my lust over those times. My room is full with the old gears, gadgets, and things from online stores. My PCs and notebooks are full with MP3s, PDFs, and many things downloaded both free and paid. I also spent for many external/ portable harddisks for backing up and traveling. I do not mean to showoff, I just tell you how worse it was from time to time during about 20 years. I sometimes think about the lost time for repairing my gears, updating my softwares, browsing; and how many books that I have not read completely. There was a break One time, in two straight months last year, I spent my times with my son playing Tamiya, small racing cars in small tracks. It was wonderful that it made me totally forgot my computers. We have had most of the time together for racing, modifying, winding the wires for the tiny motors, etc. My wife was so amazed that the toys have made me away from the PC. It ended because of the coming rainy season that made us packed and boxed back the tracks and cars, and I simply switched back to the old routine. In search of healing I remember a precious phrase: Two kinds of those who lost; they are who looks for wealth and for knowledge. This phrase sometimes wakes me up but bad habit is addicting and I found myself always returned into that path. I think it is just similar to drug addiction. As the internet is an endless resource, I search through it for the cure, and I have found some articles about it and tried to implement them, but it always hard for me to liberate myself from my habit. I really hope that finally I find it in this forum, especially from you. Your helps, Please I know that some of you are familiar to manage some types of dependence, or maybe you have healed from the same situation. Whether you have some psychological, spiritual expertise, certain medication, or exercises, please share your advice, I need it badly. I do not want to clog the rest of my life in that digital world. There must be somebody else also in pain from the same thing, your kind suggestion will be very valuable and it will save some life. Thank you very much for sparing your time reading this lengthy note. God bless you. PS: I post this in Computing & Internet, Health, and Social Science with time interval, hoping to net more inputs. Please do not waste your time to put any unpleasant or unnecessary words, consider it will not only read by me but also by the other fellow readers. If you are not in the same situation with me, you perhaps still have the advantage of knowing the answers. Thank you, again.

By using the Licensed Software, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list. 14. MISCELLANEOUS. 14.1 Entire Agreement. This Agreement and any Third Party Software Agreement set forth the entire understanding of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. Licensee acknowledges that the injury that would be suffered by Licensor as a result of a breach of the provisions of this Agreement by Licensee would be irreparable and that an award of monetary damages to Licensor for such a breach would be an inadequate remedy. Consequently, Licensor will have the right, in addition to any other rights it may have, to obtain injunctive relief to restrain any breach or threatened breach or otherwise to specifically enforce any provision of this Agreement, and Licensor will not be obligated to post bond or other security in seeking such relief Should you have any questions concerning this Agreement, or if you wish to contact Licensor for any reason, please e-mail us at dcads.biz <sendto:info@dcads.biz>. Would you help me to escape from my computer addiction please?
What are the chances of vinyl records replacing CDs and MP3s? Is audio technology going backwards? Read the following article: June 26, 2008 10:11 AM PDT Making vinyl records the old-fashioned way Posted by Daniel Terdiman 4 comments At United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tenn., LPs are still made the old-fashioned way: with lots and lots of vinyl. This is a bin full of little vinyl pellets that will be melted into records. (Credit: Daniel Terdiman/CNET News.com) NASHVILLE, Tenn.--When people think of the Beatles coming to America, they usually conjure up images of The Ed Sullivan Show and screaming teenage girls chasing the Fab Four on the streets of New York. But here in Music City, there's something else to commemorate the earliest stages of the British Invasion: the fact that the first American Beatles 7-inch record was produced by United Record Pressing--then, as now, one of the largest makers of vinyl in the world. On Monday, as I swung through Nashville on Road Trip 2008, I was lucky enough to get to visit the production facilities of United Record Pressing here and get a firsthand look at how LPs are made. Before you scoff at the notion of making records, consider that over the last few years, the format has made a big comeback, with sales skyrocketing and turntables moving off store shelves like they haven't in years. Why? The reason is pure irony. According to Jay Millar, the marketing and sales manager for United Record Pressing, it has everything to do with the emergence of Apple's oh-so-ubiquitous MP3 player. "It really started picking up when iPods started coming onto the scene," Millar said. "Everything got so sterile with digital that people were not spending time" with the physical manifestation of their music. A record-pressing machine at United Record Pressing. The company is one of only three in the United States that still produces LPs in any meaningful amounts. (Credit: Daniel Terdiman/CNET News.com) In other words, as iPods began to dominate the music world, people were leaving their CDs on the shelves, and iTunes downloads, as well as those via file-sharing services, took over. But for audiophiles used to actually handling some sort of disc, this change has led to a reversal of fortune for the LP, a format long thought to have gone the way of the floppy disk. For a company like United Record Pressing, that's been great news, as its sales have been going up steadily as more and more artists turn to records as a way to get their music into the hands of people who care about it. So how is a record made? First, a separate company with facilities nearby takes the original recording--which can come in the form of an audio tape, but (audiophiles, cover your eyes here) more often comes on CDs since many artists are using software like ProTools to cut their tracks--and uses it to cut the familiar circular grooves into an object called a lacquer. The lacquer is then delivered to United Record Pressing, which begins the process of actually making the LPs. First, the lacquer is sprayed with a layer of silver, which, after it sets, is then peeled off. The resulting sheet is known as the master, and it is the opposite of a record, because it has ridges rather than grooves. The master is then used to make what is known as the mother, a metal version of the record that can, itself, actually be played. At United Record Pressing, black is not the only color of vinyl that is used. There's also red, orange, blue, gray, and even a mixture made from the cuttings of the other colors. (Credit: Daniel Terdiman/CNET News.com) The mother is then pressed into what is known as the stamper, and this, too, has ridges. The stamper actually is the basis of every record that comes out of this factory. At this point, it's all about raw vinyl, millions of little chunks of the material that resemble Pop Rocks. And it's not just black either. The company also makes records that are red, orange, blue, and gray. Sometimes, it takes all the discarded vinyl from several pressings and mixes them together into a kind of hodgepodge color. First, the vinyl is melted down into what is called the biscuit. This is the center of the record, the round part with no grooves and the little hole. To this is added the label, which is pressed onto the biscuit, a step that doesn't require any adhesive. Rather, the biscuit is so hot from the vinyl being melted down that the label sticks right on. The labels, which are printed here by the thousands, are actually baked in a special oven so that they retain no moisture, something that could cause bubbling on the actual record. To ensure that labels don't bubble up after being pressed onto a record, the labels are baked in an oven to remove any moisture. (Credit: Daniel Terdiman/CNET News.com) Then, the biscuit is placed in the middle of a machine and then it is joined together with a fresh supply of vinyl, and together they are smashed between a plate and the stamper. A blade then shears off the excess vinyl, and voila! A brand new record slides out of the machine and onto a rack. When all is said and done, it's actually a remarkably simply process. But there's still much more that must happen before an LP leaves the facility. First, at least one of each new album run must be tested. So on one side of a room that long ago was used as a room for record release and signing parties--Hank Williams Jr. had a party thrown for him here when he was 16, Millar said--a woman is sitting and bobbing her head as she listens to songs on headphones, making sure the new record has no problems. If it does, United Record Pressing will have to tell the record company what the issue is. There's also the small matter of putting the records in their sleeves--something I saw two people tucked away in a corner of one room doing. They had their process down pat: grab an LP, inspect it quickly for obvious defects, pick up a sleeve, slide in the record, repeat. Click for gallery Millar showed me a room in the basement of the building that contained thousands and thousands of folders--really, they seemed like extra-thick album covers with no art--that contain the masters of every record the company has produced over the years. This is a treasure trove bar none, since United Record Pressing works with pretty much every major label you can imagine. Inside each folder is the master, and a full set of all the associated materials: the master, a label, an album jacket, and anything else that might be included, such as liner notes. And these days, as with an Elvis Costello album Millar showed me, the folders may also hold an insert with information for a digital download of the album. In fact, it is these digital downloads that may be heralding the re-emergence of the LP and the death of the CD. That's because many artists are now offering record buyers a one-time free download of all the tracks on the album as a bonus. This is still a small enough phenomenon, of course, to barely register on Apple's radar. iTunes is safe, in other words. Still, for audiophiles who used to buy CDs, this gives them a way to have a physical disc to listen to the music on, as well as a way to easily tote it with them. "People don't need their discs to be compact anymore," said Millar, "because you can't get much more compact than MP3. So it's back to the big discs." * 10 hours ago * - 3 days left to answer.
